Cereal Killer was formed in late 1996 when Simon sent Shaz an email asking if he wanted to "form a shit-hot rock band". Shaz agreed and Cereal Killer was born. We then recruited some band members from within Imperial College in London, where we were all studying, we were joined by John M. on vocals and Gavin on bass with Pedro on drums for gigs in London during 1997. Throughout 1997 we played in and around London and received great magazine reviews such this from December 1997; "Cereal Killer came on last and immediately set the scene by riffing away like there was no tomorrow. They played rock music, full stop. Oh, and that's with a capital 'R'." By the time 1998 came around Paul had joined us on drums and a great first gig with him was reviewed as "Cereal Killer who are now regarded as (probably) the best band in college at the moment"..."In fact they were so good I nearly dropped my beer". Playing more gigs outside of college in 1999, one of the best was at the Bull and Gate pub in north London where Nirvana made their UK debut. Apparently "the mighty Cereal Killer were playing their hearts out once more" and "Cereal Killer took the opportunity to shine, rising to the occasion." Mid 1999 Gavin left to move abroad and a search for a vocalist started. We were rejoined by John M. on vocals and John W. on bass and played a super hot gig in a pub in Hitchin, north of London. Early in 2000 we went into a studio to record some of our favourite songs. We had found a new vocalist but after some moments that Spinal Tap wished they had thought of with the new vocalist at a London gig (he was sacked the week after) we were rejoined by John M. for some more gigs, parties and outdoor festivals. At the end of 2001 we finished these gigs off by playing at the very first Jemfest outside of USA in London in October 2001. In 2002 we embarked on our 'Snap, Crackle and Rock' World Tour which has visited such exotic locations as; Jemfest 2002 in Orlando, USA; Merthyr Tydfil, Wales; a couple of dates in London, UK including Jemfest UK 2002; and an acoustic set on the steps of the Opera House in Sydney, Australia. 2003 sees Cereal Killer continuing with our World Tour which will finish with Jemfest UK 2003 in October. See you there!! During a break between gigs we will be going into the studio to record the tons of new songs we have just written and to re-do some of our older ones too. Our website continues to be visited by people all over the world; North America; South America; Europe; Africa; Middle East; India; Far East; South East Asia and Australia.
