Alan Lennon is a 26 year old guitarist that hails from
Bagenalstown, Co.Carlow in Ireland. He took up the guitar at the age of 16
and was influenced by guitarists like Slash, Eddie Van Halen and Hendrix.
Alan played in local rock bands. He then went on to discover more virtuoso
style guitarists such as Vai and Satriani.
Alan started to write his first demo in 1999/2000 and it
received great reviews.
Alan demoed at the 1999 Marshall Roadshow,
He worked with eccentric producer Kim Fowley on his Album
"Young City Vs The BadDog Club".
Alan was then to be influenced by whom he believes to be
the greatest guitarist of them all "Jason Becker". Even Jason loved Alan's
demo saying his "Feel and sense of melody are really cool" and that he was
honoured that he was of some influence.
Alan was featured in the February 2001 edition of "Guitar
Nine's Undiscovered Section"
Alan's current influences are Jeff Beck ,Shawn Lane, Greg
Howe, George Lynch, Yngwie Malmsteen and of course Jason Becker.
Alan has twice been a guest columnist for "Chops From Hell"
and has been featured on and interviewed for various other websites.
Alan is releasing his debut album "Heavens Call on
September 27th
