I got a story to tell:

I KNOW this was a stolen guitar.

I'm sorry I've been dragging my feet reporting this info. I've looked in the locals under lost or stolen with no success but maybe you can help.
I knew the moment would present itself when I would find the place to do it. Here's what I got. About 2-2 1/2 months ago I was in the "Golden City Bar" connected to the "Golden City restaurant" Chinese food. Located in Seattle, Washington on 22nd NW and NW 56th, in a district called Ballard.
I'm sitting at the bar and this guy walks in with some obviously just stolen from the local grocery store seafood trying to hustle it in the bar. Can you believe the bartender accepted this crap? a real sleazy tramp, coke smoking, skanky ass, whore, dog, bitch, piece of slime.
This place is also known by the local cab drivers as "the armpit."  Anyway she calls me over to see if I was interested in a "good deal". Dizgusting. This place is a real hole and known for it's lowlife standards. The owners are sleazy and so are most of the customers. of the bar anyway... What can I say? sometimes I like to hang around hole old dive bars. but what happened on this occasion not only insulted, but absolutely offended me to no end.  I guess this guy is a regular and known for his behaviour. I'd never laid eyes on him but I've seen his kind before. After finding out what was up I just walked away back to my drink and thought what a sick place this is. By the way, that was the last time I went there. OK. back to the story. He splits and about 10 minutes later comes skulking back in with a guitar hidden under his coat and heads for the can.
Now I HAVE to get involved. I follow him in and he gets scared and tries to hide the guitar.
I play it cool and the conversation goes like this:
me: it's alright man, what do you got there?
him: (in a hushed tone) yeah, someone who owed me some money just gave this to me, whaddya think it's worth? 300 bucks maybe? reveals this hollow body, sunburst electric Gibson, single pick-up, 2 F-holes. Now I don't know the name of this model but I'll take it to the local guitar store tomorrow and find out what more I can) no case just the guitar under his smelly jacket.
me: I don't know.. does it work?
him: I don't know
me: let me check it out (the low E is pushed a little bit off the bridge. I snap it right back on. no problem. it looks like a good working axe)
me: well, let's take it up to my place and plug it in and see.
him: OK At this moment I'm already thinking about giving a royal and I mean severe beating to this slob.
me: let me go get my car and we'll take it up there and check it out
him: OK I leave and pull my car around to the side door, next to the alley. double park , go inside.
me: alright, let's go.
him: ok me: lead the way he heads out the back door, I drop some dough on the bar and as he heads out the door I turn back towards the bar and say aloud: If there's anything I can't stand it's a low life thief. I follow him, open my trunk and he puts the guitar in. I close it and get in (leaving the passenger door locked) he's standing there like an asshole and I roll down the passenger window about 2 inches
me: (to him) you low life sunuvabitchin' thief, if I didn't have someplace to be right now I'd ruin your face. (or words to that effect)  I HATE thieves! especially musical instrument thieves. and since I'd have to let his stinking body in my car and drive to a secluded spot and then risk getting his blood on me. Cuz that's how I was feeling.

Now he says nothing and just stands there with his mouth hanging open. I casually drive away. the guy is still just standing there. Now if someone just drove away with your rig would you just stand there? I know I'd be chasing that fucking car! and I didn't speed off, I just drove casually away, already thinking about how happy the owner is going to be to get his shit back. It's kinduva an older rig but like I said,  it's looks like a good working axe. Myself, I have a 1963 Gibson SE 300 bass. I think that's what it's called. And I've had many basses in my time. I'm almost 45 years old and and have had guitars in my life since I was a kid. got into basses exclusively over 20 years ago. and this is the one I've kept the longest. about 15 years or more so far. bought in a pawn shop. It's brown and kinda beat up looking, it looks just like the Gibson SG but it's a bass and has studio pick-ups. nothing special but I like it. it's fucking mine and it would kinda break my heart to have it ripped off. the case is hand made and heavy duty. I like it. I got what you might call a sentimental attachment to it. I've had many basses and this one I've kept. I don't know off hand the serial number, but I don't leave it lying around.

Anyway it would make me really happy to see this guitar returned. I got the serial number but it has one really, really unique quality that ONLY the owner would know. He might not know the serial number but necks can switched and serial numbers can be sanded off and forged. but, there is this one very unique thing only the owner of this guitar would know. I'm not gonna say exactly what it is right now. I got a picture out of a magazine of the same model of guitar. I know the best thing is to take a picture of this actual guitar but I want to make sure the real owner gets it back. you get back to me and I'll get a photo to you and let's try to rectify this. one more thing, I saw this loser just today at the local food bank and made sure I walked up to him so he could see my face and he just looked through me and turned away. no fucking way was this the owner, this was some maggot thief lowlife scumbag. I think I must like to use adjectives or I just have some very passionate feelings regarding certain issues. most likely the latter

1977 Alembic Series 1 Bass Guitar Serial # 700 was swiped on or around October 4th at the foothill UPS facility in San Fernando, CA.

The Bass was owned and played by James LoMenzo who is currently the bassist for Black Label Society and formerly with White Lion/Ozzy Osbourne/Slash's Snakepit and most recently David Lee Roth. It has a remarkable history of service. Having been used exclusively on the album "Book of Shadows" by Zakk Wylde, a track on "Guitars that Ruled the World" called "Farm Fiddlin''" and on several tracks from Zakk Wyldes band called "Pride & Glory". Most recently it was used on the David Lee Roth "Diamond Dave" CD. I can provide a letter of authenticity signed by James that states this as such. It was also  used on a few of White Lions songs from the album "Pride".

Hi My guitar was stolen back in 1981...I was looking through ebay and happened to see one just like it, so I broke out my registration card and looked up the serial number but it wasn't it (slim chance).  It just put me on a search through the web.  My guitar was a Fender Precision bass, Natural color serial number S 894790.  It was taken from a house in Riverside California where we were practicing back then. we left all our equipment there overnight, the next day it was all gone. I doubt it will ever turn up but appreciate any looking into.

Details, Markings, Where stolen, etc

Hey...an anonymous fellow guitarist recommended this site to me and I hope it works. I'll try anything at this point.  My girlfriend bought me a Trans Red Ibanez JS100.  She had inscribed it, and flew with it from Tx. To Cali to bring it to me.  I love that guitar.  It is very sentimental and I want it back!  Anyway, someone stole it from the back seat of my car (the car was in my garage).  I still had $2000 worth of gear in the trunk that they didn't touch, including my Ibanez S Series.

The guitar was inscribed ..."Everywhere, Always" on the rear tremolo cover, had a patriotic 'Uncle Sam' guitar strap.  It was in a case, which had a sticker on it that read...."don't mess with Texas".

I live in Rancho Cucamonga, Ca.  If anyone sees a red JS100, please let me know!  Here is my contact info:

Make & Model: Ibanez JS100TR Year: 1994 Serial No. C412474 Contact Raymond Lugo

Details, Markings, Where stolen, etc

Jerry,

I just noticed the the Stolen Guitar link.  What made me buy a bunch of guitars last year was that my JS100TR was stolen and I wanted more than one bazooka like it to replenish my arsenal.  My JS100 had an EMG-81 in the bridge position and EMG-89 in the neck position.  My volume know was made to split the coils in the 89.  My strap was a custom leather strap.  The serial number was C412474.

Due to the serial number, I think the guitar is a 1994.  It was stolen during the second band's set and we were on third while we were at Gaslighter's Music Hall, Gilroy, California on Saturday, September 22, 2001.  I had let the Gilroy Police Department know my serial number. My case number was 01-5475.

Thanks,

Raymond

Make & Model: Gibson Les Paul Custom Year: 1976 Serial No. Contact Hank Bernd

Details, Markings, Where stolen, etc

I would like you to post the following guitar on your page.
It's a 1976 Gibson Les Paul Custom. Natural finish, chrome hardware, Grover tuners, chrome truss cover, Gibson "dirty fingers" p/u at bridge and a PAF from a L/P Standard with chrome cover at neck. There is a perfectly round "light spot" in the finish right behind the tail piece, I think a previous owner had a sticker there. Also it has broken screws for strap buttons that have been filed down flush and no pick guard.
The thief also stole the book I kept all my ser.#'s in so I couldn't report the guitar or my stereo by the numbers. The theft occurred some time in august of '94 while I was away on vacation. I was cleaned out! The only thing I really want back is my guitar. The theft happened in Godwin, Nc. At the time of the theft it needed a fret job witch I was going to have done when I got back.

My name is Hank Bernd, my e-mail address is hampster66@msn.com, my snail mail is 348 Jamestown Dr. Spring Lake, NC. 28390. Thanks for your time and I think you have a great service. I'm hoping to have good luck with it. I've been looking in all the Pawn Shops in the area for years now with no luck. The cops told me they couldn't do anything without the ser.# so I'm on my own.

My name is Shane Alexander, I live in Los Angeles and our band Damone, was hit about a year and a half ago and we lost a LOT of gear - the guitars were the worst of it, and I am still looking for new ways to track them down.

80's Les Paul Custom Black Beauty .w silver hardware,
PAF pickups (little sticker on pickup rings) and the string winder tuners. It was pretty much perfect condition, except for a small circular mark on the front below the pickups (under what would be the center of the pickguard. It was last in a black Epiphone case. Ser # L761958

80's Les Paul Standard Flametop - my BABY!!! Gold Bowen Bros. tuners and the rest of the hardware is silver. Had a mark through the finish on the front bottom near the binding and a 3/4 inch cig burn/ worn spot on the back at the top of the body. And an sort

of "C" shape mark under the finish (looks almost like it was done w/ a marker. It still haunts me - it was a great guitar and my first Les Paul. ser # 8 0584Brown, Gibson case.

60's Gibson SG Jr. Smaller radius neck, dull silver
tuners (not original) and holes where the tremolo was removed - pretty marred up finish. One P90. Ser #513237 I think it was in a Fender soft shell case.

71 Fender Jazz Bass - Butterscotch finish, Maple neck w/ black block inlays and "ashtray" bridge cover w Fender "F" on it. Ser # 374914

Late 90's Gison SG Special Black, White 1 ply pickguard and matching truss rod cover. Scratched on front and some belt buckling on back. Ser # 90737576.

Anything you can do would be so appreciated.
