Details & HistoryI love this guitar! I would love to keep it but I need to get rid of almost all my gear to move away, (plus I could use the Cash) so e-mail me for the other stuff I've got for sale. www.nafe@chek.com Now, the Ibanez Custom is a '89 with original hard case. I have kept it in TOP condition 9.99/10! Only scratches you'll see are with a magnifying glass! One little dint at the bottom that can't be seen unless you are looking for it, plus it's covered by the strap when ya playing anyway! It has all original pickups, but I have put a DiMarzio "Steve special" humbucker in it....It CRANKS!!! But the Original humbucker comes with it if you want. Smooth, Clean Jumbo fretts, fast, thin neck, just a DREAM to play. Everyone who plays it, LOVES IT! I can get all the sound I want out of it. From SRV blues sounds on the neck & mid pickups to Heavy, Chunky stuff on the Bridge "DiMarzio" pickup, it has a "push/pull" pot on the Vol knob for that one, to split it to single coil. |

Details & HistoryBased on the 700 series, the USA Custom series was designed to be an affordable 'custom' range. More customized then custom, you were able to select from a number of finishes, necks, inlays, headstocks, and pick up's to create a guitar for yourself. So whilst not strictly a Luthier's one off, the USA Custom's still are very sort after and collectable. Numbers are very vague and (with the exception of the early very rare pre-production runs thought to number no more then 250 pieces), extremely hard to hard to tie down. (its up to you lot out there that have them to give us details. Please Ed!). Points to notice are the Ibanez Edge trem system, (like the early Jem's) on the Graphic series, with the option for a hard tail on the Exotic woods, and a cutaway neck joint, again like the Jem's and again the exotic woods got the AANJ as a bonus. (Why just them? Ed!). And the rather 'handily' placed volume knob right under the bridge pick up. The 'Silver Snake' design is believed to have been available only for the 1990 run as its not shown in the 1991-2 catalogue. If you can help with further information on the guitar, please get in touch. |
