I was hoping I
could get some help understanding my guitar.
Here is what I know. I bought it in 1993,it's a Ibanez RG560.The serial
number is F749094,which indicates it was built in Japan in 1987.However
it has body art by Pamelina which consists of a lightning bolt pattern,
the artwork is dated 1989.It has no pick guard,
a
Ibanez Edge bridge,
a
Bill Lawrence twin blade humbucker and 2 factory single coils as far as
I can tell.
I've had one person tell me it was built in 1989,yet the serial number
disputes that.
Did they even make RG560 guitars in 1987 or do I have the wrong neck? Or
could have someone have paid Pamelina 2 yrs later to paint it after they
bought it? I'm also curious on what the price of this thing would be
when it was brand new.
In addition I e-mailed
Pamelina almost a year ago and she didn't say anything about it,
just that if it was dated 1989 it was among the 1st she did for Ibanez
and that the e-mail seemed like a blast from the past.
Here is a picture,
it
might not be that good but you can make out the lightning design.
I'll see if I have something better. |

The camo says it's a u.s.a. custom with a serial
number that starts with F9 plus five more digits so I assume that it's a
1989 model. For a U.S.A. Custom, I'm surprised to see it's finish isn't
listed with the other U.S.A. Custom guitars I see listed.
Also has a bensalem neck plate.
