Details & History
I first saw Alien's Revenge in an Ibanez
catalog circa 1991. I don't remember what catalog specifically, but it
was current and it had the likes of Reb Beach, Zakk Wylde, The
guitarists from (the original) Warrant, Joe Satriani and Steve Vai
within it's pages. Ha- I still remember to this day cause I spent so
much time flipping through the pages and dreaming!
Being a HUGE fan of H.R. Geiger and the
Alien movie saga (minus the last horrific episode), I HAD TO HAVE THIS
GUITAR. I convinced my parents that it would be a good graduation gift-
I graduated High School June 92.
So, my dad ordered it at our local Ibanez
dealer and it came some time later and apparently, the guys at the music
shop were told that we were the first to order one. Of course, I
thought COOL. Here's where it gets better. A month or so after we
received it, I found out they discontinued it.
I've emailed Ibanez in the past to find out
how many were actually ever produced and sold, but I've never had any
reply. I know for a fact there can't be very many in the world, so you
can be sure I'll be hanging on to this one for a long time to come. I'm
still very much in love with it, it's one beautiful piece of art.
But it was produced and it was available for
the public... but that's all I know. There's at least one in the world-
it's sitting here beside my desk.
{Hopefully some details to give us a rare insight of this guitar. Ed!} |

Details & HistoryBased on the 700 series, the USA Custom series was designed to be an affordable 'custom' range. More customized then custom, you were able to select from a number of finishes, necks, inlays, headstocks, and pick up's to create a guitar for yourself. So whilst not strictly a Luthier's one off, the USA Custom's still are very sort after and collectable. Numbers are very vague and (with the exception of the early very rare pre-production runs thought to number no more then 250 pieces), extremely hard to tie down. (its up to you lot out there that have them to give us details. Please Ed!). Points to notice are the Ibanez Edge trem system, (like the early Jem's) on the Graphic series, with the option for a hard tail on the Exotic woods, and a cutaway neck joint, again like the Jem's and again the exotic woods got the AANJ as a bonus. (Why just them? Ed!). And the rather 'handily' placed volume knob right under the bridge pick up. The 'Alien's Revenge' is one that is not in the catalogues or promos in my possession. It is possible that its is one of the Pre-production guitars. If you can help with further information on the guitar, please get in touch.
