Details & HistoryThe UVMC, I think in the early 90’s we all though that if we had the guitar we would be able to play Passion & Warfare. Just in case, 15 years on anyone has the same misconception….. It Won’t!! You would however have a rare and VERY Cool guitar. I think numbers stand somewhere between 1000 and 1500. They were painted either by ATD in the US or In Japan…. Generally the ATD’s are considered more collectable (Must get around to pic’ing the ATD) to the collector and those that know….. those that don’t know, don’t really mind as long as it looks like the one on P&W!! The Japanese ones vary from sk pink, dy yellow and lng green, to red, green and yellow….. the latter often referred to as MKR…Mustard, Ketchup, Relish. You will find a common saying in sales pitches that …’this is a Japanese swirl… but a good one’ and I will say the same for mine…. Very UVMC-like in the colours. If you ask most people what a UVMC looks like… it would be something like this!
Dimarzio pups and of course 7 strings….. if you look closely I just snapped the low B whist having a quick strum while she was out for pics….don’t know how!

Details & HistoryHi, this is my new Ibanez Universe UV77MC, which I’ve just bought after it was advertised on ebay. It is in dead mint, absolutely unplayed condition, and it’s one of the earliest examples, pre ATD swirl, serial no. 902204.

Details & History
I bought this UVMC in August this year (MMIV), it's either a 90 or 91,
the first two digits of the serial No are completely gone, so I can't
really tell, but it's got an Edge not a Lo Pro, it's not pristine, but
the defects are relatively small and virtually unnoticeable, the biggest
being some finish missing from the body around the trem cover on the
back where it looks like someone has removed the cover for the first
time, and it has stuck to the guitar finish, lifting it off, they
should've used a hobby knife on it first to break the seal. It looks
like it's had the trem studs (that are in the body, that take the trem
posts) replaced at some point. It's had the bridge pickup changed for a
Seymour Duncan, I don't know which model though, I've got the original
that came out, so it'll probably be going back in, though I quite like
the sound of the Duncan, so maybe not, it may be eye catching, but it is
meant to be played after all. My brother Tornbuckle likes it and he's
just eaten a juicy Buhna cooked with an egg.

Details & HistoryI bought this '91 Universe in early 1996. Soon after,
Steve Vai made a signing appearance at a music store in San Antonio, TX
during the first G3 tour. The guys guarding the doors told me that no one
could bring a guitar in for him to sign, so I had to leave it in my car,
and only was able to take my Passion & Warfare CD inside. When I got up to
Vai in the line, I asked him if he could sign my multicolored Universe. He
said, "Sure!" and I told him that the store employees had refused me
bringing it in, but I was pushed on out of the store by the drones before
he could respond, and gave up hope.

Details & HistoryEver since P&W came out, I've been searching for a
Universe 77MC. In 2002 I got lucky and found three MC's that where for
sale. I got to chose the nicest swirl (witch also had the nicest price).
