Details & History

This is the first guitar I remember seeing (on the cover of Steve Vai's Passion & Warfare CD) that I really wanted. At the time these were introduced, though, I was somewhat new to guitar--6 strings were enough of a challenge, so I wasn't quite ready to deal with 7 yet! Also, as an unemployed high school student, I didn't have much in the way of funds to make such a major guitar purchase. Years later, I was fortunate enough to find someone who was interested in trading a multi-color swirl for my Steinberger GM7-T (which was cool, but certainly not getting played as much as it should be). I really lucked out... the guitar is in excellent condition for its age (no wear, no pickup/guitar paint fading, only one minor ding, usual finish cracks by the neck joint), came with the original pink-lined case and swirled strap, and has a killer swirl (some other multi-color swirls were swirled in Japan, and are generally considered to not be as good as the guitars swirled by Darren of ATD, although it's all highly subjective). Beyond all the visuals, it plays and sounds great, too. It's so cool that it actually merits having extra pictures!
