This was the Universe everybody was waiting for. Ibanez finally got it right. I hadn't planned to get one, until I tried one out in a music store in Hong Kong many years ago. I noticed the mother-of-pearl binding that not only went along the neck, but around the ENTIRE guitar! Even around the headstock and the rest of the body. That is such a nice detail that you don't see in the catalogs. This guitar kicks butt.

Details & History

The first seven-string I bought (actually, the first seven-string I ever played as well...). I originally set out to buy an RG7620, but no local vendors were carrying them, so I turned my quest to the 'net. Fred (from Fred's Music, where else?) suggested that pay a little more to upgrade to the Universe. It was definitely good advice... when I first opened up the case I was stunned by how beautiful (in a classic sense) this guitar was. I was even more shocked that it was so easy to play. I don't play this as much as I play my RG7-CTVV (after all, how can it compete with direct-mounted pickup love?), but it's still a beautiful guitar.

This fine guitar comes to you in black with mirror pick guard,
locking tremolo and heavy duty flight hard case. 
 I paid for it over 2K in New York guitar shop 2 years ago and it has been used mainly for practice at home.
This Universe is in excellent condition ( NO scratches, dents, etc.) and sounds awesomely good..

The Current model of universe, probably the best from a players angle. Beautifully finished similar in appearance to the JEM10th with gorgeous abalone and the light without heat logo inset in the body.
