Details & History

{This is my call on the model number, if you know better, please let me know. it looks to be the same spec as the RG410, but with black hardware and a burst highlighted edge. Ed!}

COOL burst color Ibanez Roadstar II

And when have you ever seen this paint job?  Very cool!!!  And its the FACTORY FINISH!

The color is black, and it the burst is metallic/pearl burgundy.  Looks like its glowing!

This guitar is top notch.  Don't thumb your nose at this Ibanez - its from 1986, and it has some nice upgrades, and has been left stock in the ways that matter.

The neck is wide thin like the Alan Holdsworth of just about the same time.  The Alan Holdsworth seems to me to be very much like a Charvel Model 1, or a Kramer Baretta of the time.  And this neck profile is very similar to all three of those guitars.

This guitar has one slanted ( like a Kramer Baretta ) Kent Armstrong   It is a WPU10 HSD0-1 HUMBUCKER DISTORTION pickup.  It sounds great - think Gibson PAF in the bridge.  This pickup upgrade also includes a Gibson Volume and tone pot.

Has an Ibanez 'Edge' locking tremolo (licensed by Floyd Rose), and a locking nut.  Original Ibanez Gotoh tuners.  Original winged strap buttons.  Includes the correct trem arm.

There are absolutely no issues with this guitar.  No cracks, repairs, warps, or anything of the sort.  There are very few nicks and dings, and there are some light picking scratches on the top.  Nearly no fret wear at all.  And with the electronics upgraded to good ole American parts, this thing sounds great and may never need any electronic work for the rest of its life.

Condition: 8.5 - has a few small sized impressions and dings, and a little pick scratch rash, and a tiny bit of belt buckle rash as well.  Non-original pickup upgrade.

Playability: 9.5 - for an Ibanez?  WOW!  plays like a Charvel or a Kramer - set up professionally with nice low action, with the correct amount of relief, and intonation is superb.

Tone: 9 - Kent Armstrong pickup is a vast improvement - nice midrange boost

Neck: 9 - on of the best features of this guitar.  Nice wide-thin profile
