RG7 CTVV
Prestige

SN: F9937306 YEAR: 1999 OWNER: Brent J. Duersch

Details & History

I really did not plan on buying this guitar. Really. But Dave (guitar-playin' partner in crime) had to drag me out to Guitar Center to do some shopping for accessories. Then I saw this hanging on the wall. I successfully avoided it for at least 10 minutes, but then I just had to play it. Surprisingly, I was able to give it back to the sales rep and walk out of the store, but I'd only been home for 30 seconds when I called the sales rep back and told him I wanted it. I'd really been hoping for an RG7-CSTVV with the piezo pickups, but the laws of supply and demand were making them hard to find and upwards of $2000 to own (just a little steep, IMHO). This contrasts nicely to the UV777... the mahogany body is a lot warmer than the basswood, and the direct-mounted pickups provide much more clarity. I recently upgraded the pickups to the Dimarzio PAF 7/Tone Zone 7 combination, and now this is probably the best sounding seven string in the world!

*If any specs are not correct, please let me know... I got most of these figures off the 'net and by word-of-mouth, so they may not be 100% accurate, and I may just be ignorant enough to believe it.
