Details & HistoryIbanez Pat Matheny Signature PM20 guitar in near mint condition. There are some light surface scratches and minor playing wear, but it is otherwise perfect and includes the original hardshell case. This unique and cool Translucent Green finish isn't even offered in the Ibanez literature. I was told it is a Custom Shop color and that this guitar was a prototype. It has a sticker inside that is hand signed by Pat Matheny himself, and a low serial number, 40001. They hounded him for years, but Pat Metheny wasn't interested in an Ibanez bearing his signature. Finally they convinced him they were serious. It took years more before they finally came up with an axe he liked more than the one he was playing. What they came up with was this guitar. The upper bout cutaway lets the neck join the body at the 17th fret for finger-flying freedom beyond the traditional jazz hollowbody. Maple top, back, and semi-thinline sides (in between the thickness of an ES 175 and an ES 335) with a Silent 58 humbucker provide a thick, modulated jazz tone. Gold hardware, multi-bound ivoroid top/back, bound neck/head combine with tripartite MOP inlays on a rosewood fretboard for fabulous looks. Raised Gibson style pickguard has been added and the pickup cover has been removed, but will be included. A 22 fret, one pickup, all Maple body, rosewood fretboard, Mohogany neck, one pickup, jazz box. It does not have any extraneous features but everything it has it top notch and the volume and tone controls actually do what they are supposed to. To me it feels like a more comfortable version of a Gibson ES 175. The neck is straight and the action is super low with no buzzes at all. Maple back, sides,
