Details & History
My great thanks go to Rob who is the mastermind behind
the Paul Samson website for his
help in locating details on these guitars owned by a guitar God sadly no
longer with us, and greatly missed.
Paul, this is for you.
Left to right:-
1) F762595, Blue Sunburst. Used occasionally as spare.
2) The second guitar is unknown to me. I only ever saw the 3, and Paul only ever mentioned the 3. maybe he had 4 and sold one on? This guitar doesn't have Reflex pickups, also note the individual pickup selector switches.
3) The white one. Note black hardware compared to chrome on the Blue and Red ones. I have mislaid the serial No of this one, I have asked the current owner to pass it on to me. This was the main guitar for Tokyo 1999 and Wacken 2000, also British and American tours with the Richard Black Project. Slightly cleaner sound that the Red one, also used for some recordings 1987-2002 when clean sound required.
4) F740514 Red Sunburst, known as "Martin". Pauls main Guitar for live work and recording 1987-2002, see white guitar description for exceptions. Note different volume/tone knob layout to Blue and white guitars.
