| Details & History {This is not the normal one but was previously owned by John Petrucci Himself and was a private sale from him to Gert. Ed!} Hi. My name is Gert Nijboer and I am from the Netherlands in Europe. "I bought it from John on the 11th of November 1999 when Dream Theatre was in Europe for the pré-SFAM World Tour when he was still playing exclusively Ibanez Guitars! It took me more than 2 years before I had the guts to alter settings on the guitar because of the fact Mark Snyder did such a good job on it! It plays like hell and it is definitely the best guitar I have ever owned!"

I just purchased a
Petrucci P3 from a younger gentleman in Pennsylvania.
Serial Number F9714256
It's just too good for
words to describe.
I have yet to play
anything even close to it.
I truly believe that
Ibanez makes wonderful products.
My only regret was going
so long without one!

THIS I ONE OF MY TWO JPM100P3 MODELS (THE OTHER WAS MY PLAYER) THAT IS ABSOLUTELY A 10. I PICKED THIS GUITAR OUT OF 13 OTHER JPM'S WHEN I WORKED AT A LOCAL MUSIC SHOP IN OKC BECAUSE OF THE FRETBOARD STOCK IT HAS. AS YOU KNOW THIS WAS JOHN PETRUCCI'S FIRST SIGNATURE SERIES GUITAR AND MY FAVOURITE (OVER THE ERNIE BALL MODEL, THE NECK IS MORE COMFORTABLE TO ME THAN THE EB, AND WHEN YOU DO EXCESSIVE TREMOLO BAR USAGE IT STAYS IN TUNE UNLIKE NY BUDDY'S EB PETRUCCI MODEL, PROBABLY BECAUSE IT LACKS THE LOCKING NUT MECHANISM) IT HAS BEEN STORED IN ITS CASE FOR IT'S LIFETIME. IT HAS ONE AIR NORTON DIMARZIO AND ONE STEVE'S SPECIAL IDENTICAL TO THE EB MODEL AND THE MOST BEAUTIFUL ROSEWOOD FINGERBOARD I'VE SEEN ON A JPM. HAS AN LO-PRO EDGE TREMOLO (SAME AS JEM) THREE WAY HUM CANCELLING PICKUP SELECTOR. THIS JPM HAS NOT BEEN PLAYED ON. THERE IS NO WEAR ON THE SADDLES, ALLEN NUTS, TREMOLO BLOCKS OR ANYWHERE ELSE. I TRIED TO GET CLOSE ON THE FRETBOARD SO YOU COULD SEE HOW GOOD THE FRETBOARD LOOKS (RIVALS ANY OTHERS I'VE SEEN) THIS IS DEFINITELY A 10 OUT OF A 10 . |

This is a GREAT player's guitar!! It is in good condition, but it's not a collector's piece. It has some normal picking scratches on the front and there is a little wear on the saddles. As you all know, these guitars sound amazing and play great. |

To me, the neck is the best one ever produced by any guitar company. It is not so small like the RG´s. This and the placement of the volume and tone controls made me actually buy this guitar. The sound is very versatile, it is from Metal (bridge PU) to smooth (neck PU). If the switch is in the centre position, you get a very single-coil like sound, really nice for some clean passages. To me, the JPM series was the best series from Ibanez. I only sell this guitar because I have another one. This one hasn't been played for half a year, and I think it's a pity because it deserves to be played often and live. |

Details & HistoryDimarzio pickups (Air Norton in neck position and Steve's
Special in bridge position) This JPM is actually black and ivory, not black and white. I believe John Petrucci's 7 string that he plays on tour is black and white with a white back, but as far as I know, all the actual JPM100P3's are black and ivory with a black back. Stage lights and flash photography can make these guitars look white, but as you can see from the photos above, they can appear somewhat more of an ivory or cream color when put on a contrasting bright white background. Many thanks to Paul at JPMSITE for the great research. Please visit his excellent site HERE. |
