Steve Vai's
Red Lace

SN: N/A  YEAR: N/A OWNER:

Details & History

This is Steve Vai's "Red Lace" guitar, made by Ibanez and used by both Steve Vai and Mike Keneally on the G3, Fire Garden and Ultra Zone tours! It's one of a kind, it comes directly from Steve's collection, and it's signed by Steve Vai on the back with a gold metallic marker.

The full proceeds from this auction will go to the Casey Lee Ball Foundation for Paediatric Kidney Research, which is a non-profit organization where every donated dollar goes to research. The major source of funding for the Foundation has been the Casey Lee Ball Golf Classic, an annual charity golf tournament held with celebrity guests. Their fundraising efforts have raised over $2 Million to pay for much needed paediatric kidney research! As a result of this research, several new medicines are helping to reduce the side-effects of kidney transplant anti-rejection medicines.

The guitar is a custom Ibanez electric with a figured maple top with a transparent red finish and clear pickguard. The guitar's neck is a Jem 7VWH neck with a vine fretboard inlay, and the guitar's bridge is a gold Lo Pro Edge. It plays and sounds great, and has gone with Vai & band through several dozen different countries. There is some wear on the pickguard and elsewhere, but the guitar is still in great shape and has been in Steve's arsenal of guitars since the mid-90s. This is your chance to help support a wonderful organization that's doing truly great and important work, AND get yourself a unique piece of guitar history!
