The beautiful BTB850SPW
The neck itself is built out of 5 different pieces,
three maple stripes parted by two 5mm wide stripes of ovangol wood. The
fingerboard is palisander (Indian rosewood) and the head is covered in
palisander as well. The central body part is mahogany, onto which another
mahogany (7mm thick) piece is attached. The central part of the top layer
is walnut. The lighter parts of the pattern are maple inserted in between
the two mahogany pieces, which all gives the body an amazing look and
wonderful details.
I have a feeling that the people at Ibanez thought to themselves, Let's
make a bass that doesn't look like a mass-production bass, but a hand-made
masterpiece, and I think they succeeded.
