Details & History

Interesting specs: Mahogany body with fractured black finish (I’m not sure how to call it!). The EX stands for extraordinary (the biker black finish is just that!), only made and available in 2002 and one of the last guitars with the much heralded Edge bridge.

 

Story:

I went shopping one day in 2002 and  I wasn’t exactly going for a guitar, but the finish of this guitar got my attention. It had just arrived (as it was still in all the usual factory plastic), it was superbly set-up and I didn’t hesitate for one second… It was quite expensive for a non-prestige (all new Japanese models are called prestige since 2003, but this was a 2002 model).

I put in a SD Full-shred at the bridge, and this has been my main guitar in 2002-2003, I don’t call it the workhorse for nothing! Somehow I tend to thicker necks than this super-wizard lately, so it’s a bit idle now unfortunately….
