Details & HistoryInteresting specs: Alder body with maple flame veneer, coil splitter, Viper neck. The RT650 was only available in 1994, and this amber color wasn’t even in the catalog!
Story: Impulsive buying is the best! When I found out that a guitar shop in Holland had a RG2027x I had to go and noticed this one in the store, I didn’t recognize this model. After some research at home I found out it was a RT650, I really liked the alder body and Viper neck. So when I bought my RG2027x I got this one as well with a very nice deal, so this guitar cost me less than $300! If you split the coils it has the twang of a strat, and using the hums it has a nice tight and compressed sound. I don’t really liked the finish and the Gotoh single locking bridge, so I sanded off the clearcoat to get a more natural look and blocked the trem. I am still thinking of putting a Gotoh stop tail on this one, with that it would be the ultimate stand-in for my PGM!
