RG507

SN: F9708732 YEAR: 1997 OWNER: Simon Kibble

Details & History

RG507 - (F9708732) a second hand buy that ended up getting a replacement neck at no cost to me (huge thank you to the guys at Headstock). Wizard 2 neck, bit fatter, bit more to grab onto, still feels and plays great and once again the stock pick ups aren't too bad, but I do keep promising myself a change one day. From Musical Exchanges in Brum, now part of Sound Control

Details & History

I bought it in 2001 in local music store. Serial number is F98 25648 (made in 1998 in Japan).

Specs:

24 jumbo frets
Basswood body
2 pieces maple neck wizard II, rosewood fretboard
Ibanez Edge tremolo and locking nut
Gotoh tuners
H-S-H pickup configuration (V7-S1-V8)
Volume and tone controls, 5 way switch

It was in a great condition when I bought it - no scratches, no fingerprints, all protecting tapes was on right places on guitar.

After I bring it home, spent a few days setting it - pickups height, string action, tension, Floyd, etc, but when I finished, I have a good time playing on it. It is very good guitar for it price (500$ with 10% dealer off). Ibanez Edge stay in tune great. V7 neck pickup produces smooth warm sound, good to fingerpicking and clean tone (I usually play on it). V7-S1 combination sounds like bells. V8 is not good as V7, but if you aren't sound quality maniac, you'll enjoy it (-:

I take off tremolo hole cover to easy access to adjustment bolts.
