RG PR-3
'Texas' Prestige

SN: N/A YEAR: N/A OWNER: Mark Palinkas

Details & History

The Ibanez "Texas Prestige" RG PR-3 TRD (trans-red) - one of 12 made.

If I understand the history correctly, there were three different Texas Prestige models, with 12 of each made in the Japan custom shop. I believe these were made for the Guitar Center music store chain in Texas (hence the nick name "Texas Prestige"). The PR-1, which was similar to this one, only the body & headstock were a cream color, and the PR-2 which had a black H-S-H pickup configuration and the body and headstock was a lavender/purple color with Cosmo black hardware.

The specs for this little beauty are:

- Mahogany/maple quilt body--red (matched head stock)
- Cream binding & abalone purfling on body & cream on neck
- Satin gold hardware
- Dimarzio H-H
- Neck carve a bit beefier than the Wizard
- Ebony fretboard
