This was my first guitar purchase of the millennium (2001, that is...). This model had long been available on the Ibanez Japan website, but it was never made available to US buyers (what a shame!). I'd always debated about buying one from a Japanese dealer, but I didn't want to mess with the cost and hassle of international shipping and customs. Fortunately for me, somebody else went to the trouble of shipping and importing the guitar, only to discover that the neck was too thick for their liking, so I jumped on the opportunity (isn't e-bay great?) and picked this one up. This guitar, though a J-Custom, is produced in much greater quantities than the rarer J-Customs that I have, but the craftsmanship is still top notch. The 5-piece neck with flamed maple binding is very unique for Ibanez, and the greenburst finish is equally stunning as well. An all-round beautiful guitar that makes me wish I lived in Japan so I could have access to more of them!
