Details & History

Here is a 1998 Ibanez Prestige Guitar, serial #W94081868. I bought this axe at the BAMMIES  award show  on 03/13/'99  in San Francisco.   I've  never seen anything like it before. It is  MINT and unplayed.

The body of this guitar is what you notice first....  some sort of cool bronze or dark gold tone / color, and the finish on the axe is some sort of metal coating, so that all the 'gears / screws / pulleys/  and wheels' on the body look 'stamped',  etched  (ala engraved) in to the finish, which continues all the way around the body... something that was probably designed in the Japanese custom shop... Truly a work of art... plus I don't think  you could scratch this guitar!

The bolt on neck is straight and true, with excellent playability and action...  I think it's one of those wizard necks, with the 3 piece maple neck material. There are 24 jumbo frets, and the inlays are the pearl dots ( wow... pretty abalone looking colors...) in addition to the 'Prestige' logo block inlay at the 24th fret....  and  there are 3 Di Marzio pickups.... which smoke !

All the  writing under the  neck is in Japanese, so  I am unable  to tell you what model this  guitar is.  Please see pic.

Original Ibanez tuners, with that matching unusual bronze tone, possibly called "Pearl Gold'... which matches that LoPro Edge 'licensed under Floyd Rose patents '  tremolo / whammy unit...  the tremolo bar IS included... and the metal pickup mounting rings and tone / volume knobs are matching and MINT!

The headstock is hard to describe...  It says Ibanez under there somewhere...  you can barely see it...  there is some cool powder blue overspray-type  paint finish that covers the logo and the bronze/metal facade.

The guitar is shipped in a Superior C1520 hard-shell case, which is NEW.
