Details & HistoryHere is my 1990 RG570. The story goes...While I was living in Denver, I bought this white RG570 and didn't care for the tone. Knowing it takes a lot of white paint to cover the woodgrain I knew that wasn't helping. So I sanded it down, but left some white patches for character. Then after playing like that for a while in which the tone got a lot better, much warmer tone, which is why I sought out the Jem7BSB since it didn't have a clearcoat, a friend of mine and I decided to set it on fire. Being inspired by Vai burning his Universe we took mineral spirits around the edge and lit it. I held it by the neck to control the flame to make it crawl up the body. Oh, and I didn't take the pickups out either, just wrapped them in aluminium foil and let it go. They still work too. And finally, being inspired by Zakk's confederate flag Les Paul, I tacked bottle caps from Pete's Wicked Lager on the body. It is now mounted on my living room wall, but still plays great and sounds better after getting the clearcoat and paint off of it.
