AX40
Axstar

SN: I850161 YEAR: Sept 1985 OWNER: Erik Arent

Details & History

I have recently purchased a less than pristine Axstar AX40. Since I bought it on a whim for its great looks (I play in a 80's "revival" metal band doing original material - www.insidioustorment.com) for about 150 USD (1000,- Danish crowns, if that makes sense to you) I was a bit anxious to see if it was just a fluke guitar. Luckily, it wasn't. I have included a photo, but I'm afraid it doesn't do the guitar any justice. When I bought it, the original flightcase was included, the top part of the string-locking system had been removed (but came along) as did the vibrato arm. It is in serious need of some adjustment, but otherwise sound. The backplates have been removed several times and the screws are not original, but that is not really an issue, as the guitar has the wear and tear of the road on both front and back is therefore not a collectors item - lest of course I make to the stadium level (hell'll freeze over before that...).

The serial number is I850161 - thanx for the guidelines about the serial numbers!

I plan to make this my principal guitar for live and studio-work, but will retain my trusty Fender Strat as live back-up as well as for the single-coil tone which is occasionally called for.
